Weekly Men's Gathering
Hey brothers,
You’re invited to our Weekly Men’s Night at Fife Street Brewing, happening every Sunday at 7:30 PM. It’s a casual, low-key opportunity to connect with other men from Hope Church and build real friendships over good food and drink.
Fife Street has something for everyone—from great food and craft brews to a solid selection of non-alcoholic options. Whether you’re new to Hope or have been around for years, you’re welcome to come and bring a friend.
When: Every Sunday at 7:30 PM
Where: Fife Street Brewing (180 Summers St, Charleston)
Leader: Ethan Evans (720-736-5212) —feel free to reach out to him with any questions!
Come this week and make it a regular part of your rhythm. We’d love to see you there!

We'll also have opportunities to engage with the Lord with practical, creative means.
Nursing babies are welcome and scholarships are available for those in need (please contact us for necessary registration code).
Join us for this sweet time of fellowship with women in your parish and from across the Anglican churches of West Virginia!
Registration closes September 17th.
*please note that if you do not have an account with Hope Church, you may need to create one in planning centre in order to register.
4th - 6th Grade Catechism Class
Starting September 7th we will be offering a catechism class for our children 4th through 6th grade. We will meet after Sunday service for the first three weeks of each month. Together we’ll discuss both questions of doctrine and the meaning of the liturgy. While this is optional for our children, we do ask that if your children would like to participate, you commit to regular attendance.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Sara Evans (saraevans@hopecharleston.org).
All Family Eucharist Service and Cookout
Join us for our Sunday Eucharist service in which our little ones will stay with us throughout the entirety of the service! This is a great opportunity to intentionally remind ourselves and our children that they are an important part of the body of Christ and allow them to see the liturgical practices of the church that they learn about in children’s ministry! We hope this will be a wonderful time of worship together and teaching as we all look to Christ! We hope to see you there!
**We will also be having our monthly cookout after church! Please feel free to bring deserts or sides that you would like to share with everyone! We will be providing the main meal! Join us and get to know one another through this opportunity!
Children's Safeguarding Training
Dear Hope Church Family,
At Hope Church, we believe every child is a precious gift entrusted to us—and we are committed to making the church one of the safest places for them to grow, worship, and belong. That’s why we’re inviting you to join our upcoming Child Protection Training.
This training isn’t just for children’s ministry volunteers—it’s for anyone who wants to help make our church a place of integrity, vigilance, and care. Why? Because the more of us who are trained, the more eyes and hearts we have looking out for our kids. More people trained means more protection.
Here’s what the training will equip you to do:
Recognize the signs of concern and know how to respond
Understand our policies and best practices for safety
Help build a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability
Even if you’re not directly working with children right now, your presence matters. Together, we can create a church where every child feels safe, seen, and loved.
Details for our next training session:
August 24th - Immediately Following the Service with Lunch Included
Hope Church (300 20th St. SE)
RSVP to: SaraEvans@hopecharleston.org
Thank you for helping Hope Church be a place where children can flourish in the light of Christ’s love.
With gratitude,
The Rev. Derek Roberts
Rector, Hope Church Anglican
MomCo Meet and Greet
MomCo Meet and Greet
We will be partnering with MomCo in the fall to provide space and encouragement for their group. The first meeting will be a meet and greet event for the new group and there will be an iced coffee bar and snacks!
More about MomCo
MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.
MomCo — then, simply known as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)—was founded in 1973 when seven women in Colorado invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders, with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus.
Today, the small gathering they called MOPS now extends to 101+ countries, 25 languages, 72,000+ meetings a year and influences over a million moms annually.
Women’s Brunch
Sisters,
You are invited to the Scott’s residence this coming Saturday (August 9th) at 9:00am for brunch, Scripture, and discussion.
Over the course of the summer we’re exploring the book of Colossians. We will be looking into Chapters 2 and 3. We’ll ask questions, enjoy good food, and pray about practical ways Paul’s letter applies to our life today.
If you’d like an overview of Colossians, you can check out the Bible Project’s short video here: Book of Colossians Summary: A Complete Overview. Colossians is a dense book!
This will be a good time of fellowship, prayer, and discussion. It’s low key, feel free to invite friends, and come with a plate to share or just yourself. The Scott’s live at 11 Shannon Place, Charleston 25314. The house is on the corner, parking can be found by driving up behind the house. Pull into the driveway or park on the grass.
We will not have childcare, but get in touch if you need help sourcing that.
Peace,
Sara Evans
